Question about Code of Honor

I've had a couple of people ask me a question about Code of Honor and since I don't know exactly how to reply to a comment - I decided to post about it.

The question is - how could Chad Allen be dead at the end of Book 2 (Above and Beyond) and then become a major player in Book 3 (Code of Honor).

The answer is - He wasn't really dead - just very bad off. They thought he was dead when Ferrante took his 'body' as he left the McLaughlin's mountain. But then he recovered. This was not spelled out and I'm sorry for the confusion. It's not my first mistake and I'm sure it won't be my last!

Did I mention that Murder by the Book is coming out in OCTOBER???

I'm now looking forward to October! I can't wait to read Murder by the Book! I live for your books! LOL I just love to read them, and ended up buying Code of Honor in the store on a Friday "for" my sister, read it in one night, then gave it to her the next day. My book I ordered from you came 2 days later on Monday morning, and I read it again! Great book! Thank you for sharing your talents!

I'm glad your books is coming out sooner than you thought.
I've yet to read Above and Beyond, it's sitting on my shelf in my room.

Thanks, Betsy, for the special gift, Code of Honor. I was so thrilled when I picked it up from my mail box. As usual, I read the second book once again before reading Code of Honor for fear of forgetting something. And yes, I'm so glad that I did because it answered the question about the Allen fellow. You know something? I have found that I enjoy the books twice as much when I read them a second time. I absolutely love this series. I really believe that this is your BEST WORK! Not that your others are great, but this really stands out as one of your best stories.

As you know, I'm reading them to my husband and he doesn't want me to put the book down. Of course, I can only read a few chapters each night before 11:00 p.m. But Betsy, I really enjoying this last book. We're half way through and it's great! Thank you, Dear Friend!

Oops! I meant, "not that your others aren't great, but this book really stands out from the others." Sorry about the typo! What a terrible blunder! Your other books are really, really great! Got it?

Just wanted to add how much I love your books! My favorite is probably Hearts in Hiding (I've seriously read it ten times or more), but the latest series is a very close second; I've "only" read it twice (all three books), but I'm sure there are many more to come.

I'm SO excited for October! Can't wait to read your new book!!!

I totally agree with Crystal. Hearts in Hiding has been one of my favorites from the very beginning, with Double Cross as a very close second. Now this new series has matched it. When my husband and I finished the last book in the series, we both felt bad that it had to come to an end. Great job, Betsy!

I have been trying to find a list of all your books, series by series, and in what order to read them. I can't seem to find one. On you author site, could you put one please. Thank you.

I am still confused about the Chad Allen character. You said that he was gravely wounded, but not dead. However, on page 200 of "Above and Beyond," Captain Findlay said that Chad Allen had died during transport to the hospital. It's quite confusing when he becomes a major character in the 3rd book when he was pronounced dead in the 2nd book. I understand that it was a mistake, but shouldn't someone had caught that prior to printing? I want you to know that I really enjoyed reading your series. In fact, I couldn't put them down. I am very much interested in reading your other material. By the way, thank you for allowing me to express my opinion.

Holly - You're right the mistake should have been caught but really it never should have been made. I should have made sure that all the characters I was reusing from the second book in the third were still alive. I have lots of excuses but none of them good enough. I apologize profusely and promise to be more careful in the future. Please forgive me! And I'm working on a way to fix future editions of Above and Beyond - changing Capt Findlay's comment to 'He probably won't survive transport.' or something like that. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention and again - I'm sorry.
